Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use ohtap.io, the tap pages we build and our event galleries, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom or other assistive technology.
Our target
Our target is Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. We do not claim full conformance yet. This page explains what we have checked and what we still need to fix.
In Ontario, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requires larger organizations to make their websites meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA. As a small company that rule does not apply to us yet, but we work to the same standard, and to the newer WCAG 2.2, by choice.
What we have checked
- Every page on ohtap.io passes the automated WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA checks in axe-core, at desktop and phone sizes (checked November 4, 2026).
- That first pass found low-contrast text, footer links too small to tap easily, and wide tables that could not be scrolled with a keyboard. We fixed all of them.
- Every page has one main heading and a logical heading order, the language is set for screen readers, and images have text alternatives.
- Automated checks find only some problems, so passing them does not mean every page is fully accessible.
Known gaps
- There is no "skip to content" link yet.
- The homepage opens on a full-screen choice between business and events, and some sections use scroll-driven animation. These still need a full check with a keyboard, a screen reader and reduced-motion settings.
- Tap pages and event galleries on links.ohtap.io have not had a full audit yet. Each one uses the business's own colours, and maps and video players come from Google and Cloudflare.
- Guest photos in event galleries have automatic captions, which may not describe every photo well.
- The animated phone screens that show how the product works are treated as pictures, with a text description. The small labels inside them do not all meet contrast guidelines.
Ask for help or another format
If something on our site, a tap page or an event gallery does not work for you, email support@ohtap.io. Tell us the page and what happened. We will reply, and we can send you the information in another format, such as plain text by email.
Businesses and hosts who use Oh Tap! can also ask us to adjust their own page, for example to raise the contrast of their colours.
